Yung-pei Choy joined SNCCF in March 2016 as Vice President of Communications. Before taking on this role, she was heavily involved (and still is) in another nonprofit organization – The Chinese Immersion Parents Council of Fremont.
(CIPCF) – which supports the Mandarin Immersion Program at Azevada Elementary School in Fremont. Yung-pei is Outreach Chair for CIPCF. She has also been a Stay-At-Home-Mom for the past three years, ever since the birth of her second son who was born with complex medical issues. Yung-pei has 10 years of teaching experience in 2nd grade, 5th grade and special education, as well as a background in journalism. Prior to joining the teaching profession, she worked as a business writer for The Argus, a local newspaper covering the Fremont, Newark and Union City areas. Before that, Yung-pei worked as a production assistant for two to three news shows for CNNfn. She completed a teaching course through San Jose State University in 2003 and received her B.A. in Journalism at New York University in 1997.
