A collaborative project among Union City Library, Special Need Children Center Foundation, Teachers, and Parents of Special need children
Play-based learning promotes fine motor skills, gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination as well as social skills. Pretend play promotes social skills and imaginative play. This playgroup promotes inclusion for special needs kids between the age group of 5 to 14.
A number of stations were set up for the children. Each station promoted learning a special skill.
- The first activity promoted life skills like tie your shoelace learning to button up etc .
- The second activity promoted safety skills learning to open and close doors , locks.
- The third activity promoted fine motor skills like stringing beads, using tweezers and other activities as well.
- The fourth table had magnetic boards that help with fine motor tools.
- There was also a sensory table with multiple choices and activities like sensory windows and sensory tubes.
This project has been completed. We at SNCCF were proud of our collaboration with the Union City Library personnel , Parents of the Special Need Children to implement the World of colors and Play based learning projects. It was heartwarming to see the children with help from parents have fun participating in these two projects.
Please donate to our foundation to support these activities!
